The reason ^^^^ is laughing is because the getrag is a manual tranny and you asked about an auto. Assuming you have an auto, it would be a 4T40E.
tygriff
I dont know much about the tranny
hahahaha SHUT UP and answer the question
I'd say the only thing you would need to do is change the torque converter, that's my next step...

I might try a couple local places but check these out for custom torque converter work:
<a href="http://www.specriteconverters.com/contact.asp">SpecRite Converters</a>
<a href="http://www.levelten.com">Level 10 Performance Transmissions</a>
I personally called SpecRite and they were very helpfull and nice on the phone and also gave me a decent price. Just call and ask what they would suggest Stall you should get for your mods and possible future mods. Good Luck.

Try here to look up the stock replacement torque converters, there are many stall speeds stock:
http://www.transtarindustries.com
Just follow the directions down till you get to the GM TCs and find your GM ID Code(125C/3T40 for the 3sp, 4T40e for the 4sp) Find the conveersion chart for your tranny and select a TC(see catalog pages 4 & 5#s at bottom of page). Find the code for the TC you want and shop your local Tranny shops for one you want. They may not have TraStar, but they should be able to find an equivalent TC.
For example:Mine came with a B-21-6(TC ref. #) FZRB(F=fwd, Z=2375rpm stall, R=140# RTC paper clutch[lock-up TC], B=237mm[125C] bolt circle).
I'm looking at the B-21-8 FA2B(2795 stall, 140# clutch)
