Hey all,
After installing a hitch on my 03 cav w/ manual tranny and towing a trailer
a number of times I accidently opened the manual and read
"...do not tow a trailer with a manual transmission..."
WHY?
it seems just fine, the engine takes it good and the whole trailer weight
is not more than ~1,000lbs ... maybe ~1,200lbs
Does anyone know why they state to only tow with an automatic tranny?
Thanks
I don't know for sure because I have an auto, but I have seen threads in the past discussing this, and they say towing with a manual will eat up your clutch in no time.

just keep the fluid changed in the trans and dont be to hard on the clutch and i dont see why it would really hurt anything
you don't have to change the fluid on GM manual trannys unless you open it, the fluid doesn't break down like Autos do because they don't heat up as fast.

well as far as i know and from advice of others the GM Synchro mesh to get the best out of it should be change every 25,000 miles. GM says a lot of things. I changed mine i and thing felt better.

To add to that. You can the Synchromesh at the dealer ship not parts store sells it unless you go to Superlube and they don't actually sell it in a bottle with can sell it to you from their stash into your own bottle. It is expensive.
