I've never really had any clutch problems before so im not really sure what is wrong with my clutch, but it's making a chatering sound when im inside the car, when im out side with the hood open it almost sounds like a knock coming from the motor.
If I put my foot down on the clutch pedal it goes away, let it go and it comes back.
The car has had a spec stage 3 clutch and flywheel for the past 5 months and has worked great until now.
Is this like a release bearing sticking or something, I have no idea, Im lost and pissed at the same time.
I hate problems before summer.
i have the same deal in my 97....but i have the izuzu, you may be the getrag im not shure which year it changed
i have also been wondering what the deal is, i have the stock clutch in there....and it only does it every once and a while but once i hit the clutch down it shuts up
anyone have an idea?
same here... I have spec stage II.
listening...
This may be what's happening to me too.
That which does not kill you makes you stronger!
So many problems so few answers, it sucks to say it but at least im not the only one
my 99 does it, and the only thing I can reason is that the hydraulic clutch comes back a bit too much, and chatters with the vibration of the engine and whatnot. My only thought on how to fix it has been to put a shim in so the clutch stays connected to the pressure plate fingers so it doesn't rattle without pressing it off of the clutch disk. In other words, too much work for such a small annoyance. but then again, that is speculation. any better answer would be great.
Here's a rather bland trouble shooting guide I got somewhere on the net.
I imagine the "clutch cover assembly" is the flywheel cover....but I could be wrong.
Anyways, enjoy:
