Well syncro's in 3rd went this weekend on the getrag (2001 Cavy Z24 5spd)

anyone make a better rebuild kit for these things, was doing some pricing around today and i'm lookin @ like 600bux for a kit, i'm better off to just keep throwing used trannys in this car!

The Getrag was in the 01 Z24? I thought they just started using those in 03?

actually they started using the getrag in 2000

No they didn't, cause the 98-02 had the Isuzu trans, unless the Z24's came with the better getrag?

whatever you do DO NOT REBUILD, get a used tranny my freind, please trust me on this. Im talkng from experience. If you get a rebuild this is what they do. they take apart your tranny, find out you have a small problem, and just keep toppling more problems, and thus you get fooled and they make money. with my tranny i got stuck in 4tth, and they told me that my 4th gear was gone. but than again when we were on the phone he told me the tranny got stuck in first. now think abut it what does 4th ear havee to do with the tranny getting stuck in 1st. he led to me. and i cant believe i paid 2000 for a rebuild. Same thing happened to my motr. f you got getrag. id say their bullet prof, but if ts grindings. your synchro is gone. youo eiither dont know how to drive. or got a bad tranny. hope you fix it right. try double clutching and heel and toeing to make sure its the synchros.

I know its the syncros, just wondering what people used for kits or if anyone did. Basically car is turning out to be a drag car so it sees lots of 6K shifts guess it couldnt take the punishment.
