well i have a story to tell you about the life of my sunfire well first she was manufactured and delivered to marchfield wisconsin in 1997 later to be purchased by a woman who put 77k miles on it then decided it would be a good idea to wrap it around a telephone poll lol
well after that unfortunate event the car was taken from her and sold to a salvage dealership which fixed her up very nice (well thats what it looked like) and i bought it 3 years ago for about 4k not to bad i thought well i drove that car for 15k miles and decided i was to tired to drive and fell asleep at the wheel. well i guess you know what happend, I hit 3 mail boxes and a 45mph sign.
after that i spent 700 dollors to get it back on the road (primer black hoop, primer black bumper, radiator, condensor, headlights, and sunroof yes i said sunroof when the airbags came out it shattered the sunroof cause of the force of the bags, which i currently dont have on the car.....airbags that is) I really think that should be the end of the sunfire but nope i drove it for 2 more years
well just this summer it started over heating bad for no aparent reason so that sucked then just this weekend my 2nd gear died owell i still have 1st 3rd 4th and good ole 5th
then today i lost 1st gear lol wow this car is a pile of @!#$ now i drive it to work and back starting in 3rd gear lol
i have a 97 2.2L ohv 5 speed with currently 115k miles unfortunatly its time to part it out
this will be the end of my j-body fix its been fun but i have to go lol

How do you start in 3rd? Considering 1st and 2nd are gone, does it just launch fine in 3rd, or do you need to max the rpm's?

the head lights have rivits in the mounts but they work just fine if your still interested write me an email, as far as the fenders both have dents in them so its your call

well explain to me more of what its doing? like does it go in gear then grind like hell?
if it does i bet its your shift forks my first gear does that
if you want a cheap fix have a friend who i would hope to be a good wielder and a mechanic take the tranny out and weld the forks back its a temporary fix depending on how good of a welder he is
