Whats up everyone? Just wondering if a 4T4OE or any other 4spd auto trans will bolt up to a 1998 Cavalier with the ohv 2.2 engine? Bought the car early this year, only has the 3 spd but would really like to keep it since its only got 44k miles on it, just need that overdrive... Thanks,
there is alot of work to put the 4t40 in your cav
you need the computer , gauge cluster , complete engine harness , and trans
it was a option for your car , its just a matter of finding the stuff you need
You need all that stuff because the 4T4OE is an electronically controlled tranny , right? Are there any non electonic 4spd autos that will bolt up to the 2.2?
you would have to look for a earlier 4spd auto , im sure it will be hard to find
and yes the 4t40e is a electric controles trans
I will have most of what you need when I do my Ecotec swap, I would have the wiring harness tranny, and ECM. I would really have the engine and all with less miles than you have now. hit me up on AIM or MSN if your interested.
