Getrag seal question
Wednesday, June 22, 2005 10:30 PM
Is there a separate seal that goes between the input shaft and the slave cylinder? I know there's two rubber things in that side of the slave cylinder... but I don't know if there was supposed to be a seal inbetween the two....

(Please say no... cuz otherwise I have to drop the f'n tranny... sigh...)

I haven't fired up the car yet... but I imagine if there was supposed to be a seal... and there isn't.. (because I didn't install one), it's gonna barf tranny fluid out the clutch check hole.. right?

Also... any special kind of O-ring on the plastic fitting that goes into the slave cylinder? I noticed it was dripping clutch fluid... alas, no O-ring there

I'm asking... is there a separate seal between the slave and the tranny case.

If there is.. crap... I gotta get one, and drop the tranny again.

If there isn't... ROCK ON!

no seal , they are 2 complete seperate pieces

the t/o bearing unit just slides on , so no seal

the trans has a seperate seal , and so does the slave unit

i think the Oring might be to help hold it on
