Where do you go to get a rebuild manual for a 98' Z24 (MK7) transmission.
any help would be much appreciated, because my car is still out of commission and i am going to change my differential with a 93 storm GSI differential (which i already have). i already have a Haynes repair manual and all 4 of the GM service manuals but both only say how to take out and put in the transmission.
i don't have the info your looking for but alot of people here do not like to answer posts if the same question has been asked more then once or if you don't have very many posts. so try to become very familiar with the search option b/c thats what alot of people tell you to just do.....they mine as well call this a use the search button forum rather then a helpfull place for the most part.....if i were you i would call a gm car dealership and talk to the service department and see if they have any way to help you out other then that i have no idea
hope that helps
Rebuilding a tranny takes a press and heat to get the gears off the main shafts inside. Honestly, you could buy a 2.2 tranny for dirt cheap, and just use those gears with the Storm differential. You'll have to swap the outside ring on the Storm diff, but that shouldn't be bad.
O noes!
all i am probably going to do is switch out the differential for the storm one
probably easier to go to the junk yard then to reuild a tranny
I am using www.alldatadiy.com, but you have to pay for it
The website has exploded views for the tranny. Work well for me so far. I am almost at the point of final assembly
