Hi,

My car just passed 125,000 miles and I have begun to notice some problems with the transmission. When I floor the gas the engine revs up to 6000 or so RPM but then trans dosen't kick into gear like it use to. It lags by a couple seconds then finally grabs. When it finally does engage it feels as if I am losing a substantial amount of horsepower and torque. The car however downshifts properly.

Under gradually acceleration the car shifts fine. I also have no problem shifting into other gears. The car has been well maintained but driven reasonably hard but not abused.


I searched the forum but couldn't find any answers to the problem. If anyone has any idea what might be wrong I would appreciate your help.
