Does anyone know if the tranny form the Cobalt SS will fit the 2.2 ECOTEC in the Cavalier? i ask my dealer and service dept they said they would get back to me...the service guy said it should, he doesn't think there is any reason why it shouldn't...if any one knows let me know

No one's swapped it yet, if that's what you're asking. At least, no one on here.

I would be very surprised if the bellhousing was the same between the 2.0L and the 2.2L... but without looking at it, you're never going to find out. GM is useless when it comes to that kind of stuff, unless you talk to someone who REALLY knows this stuff... ie. has done it.

the 2.0 sc trans is alot different looking and wont fit in the j'body


so id have to guess the way the mounts are that the 2.2 cobalt trans wont fit the cav either

What about swapping the gears into a 2.2 ECO case? Or maybe a 2.4 case
