I know from 2000-2002 the 2200 got the Getrag tranny, but is the tranny behind the 2.4 a Getrag? Because I phoned a wrecker the other day and they said they had one out of a 2001 Sunfire GT and when I asked if it was a Getrag they said it was an OPEL or OPAL something stupid like that

Yes.. all 2000-05 5 speeds are getrag transmissions. The gearing and bellhousing are different between the 2.4 and 2.2 tho. and eco.

So I'm assuming the CV shafts would also be different from the 2.4 to 2.2?

cv shafts are the same from 95-05 for all motors , on the drivers side

the 95-97 passenger side has a bracket that bolts to the block , for the axle , but you can swap out the 98-05 on the others

and the trans make doesnt matter

I've seen getrag axles (00-05) and they all look the same to me... 2.4L, 2.2L, Eco.. the older 2.2L (pushrod) on the isuzus are considerably smaller on the ends than the 2.4L isuzu ones... at least, the ones in the wrecking yard they were. I used axles off a 2004 ecotec on mine, but popped off the ABS ring that is on the end of it.
