would this tranny(4T40E/4T45E) fit on my '96 2.4L?

i have a 1996 z24 2.4L, and im looking at swapping the tranny and engine with a built engine and rebuilt tranny. i found a tranny on ebay, and was wondering if it would fit my year/engine.

i think its a good price for a tranny that clean and rebuilt, but maybe im wrong. the seller wasnt very clear about the years and cars it fits, what he wrote is hard to understand.

thanks for the replies.

I bought a 4t40e off of a L Series Saturn not thinking that the bellhousing would be an issue just because i had not thought about it that much. So i had to take all of the new goodies out of the saturn trans and put them into the 2.4 trans. Proffesional install actually , not me. PITA but I got it for 500 off of ebay and picked it up so I still saved alot..

Clarification first

Getrag = F23, which is a 5 speed manual.
4T40E = 4 speed automatic transmission, electronic controlled, with overdrive
3T40 = 3 speed automatic transmission, vacuum controlled, no overdrive

No 5 speed automatic ever came hooked up to a 2.4L engine. So, no..

well i know he has been trying to sell that trans for a while now , you might email him and ask about it

i know it doesnt have the lsd in it , but from what i understand its been out of the car awhile , so it might need a cleaning and the seals checked , they tend to dry up in autos if they sit a while , so that would be a great time to add a lsd to it
