i think it has the 4t65e, but i may be wrong just a guess. I am almost 100% sure it isnt the 4t40e trans.

hmm damnit lol well in a nut shell i totalled my vibe and well im looking at getting a grand am like a 99 and up cause i figured i tried the j-body thing and i figured why not try the n-body thing and i know you can make those pretty fast so i dunno

the reason why i am asking is because when i part my vibe out i should have like 3 to 4k to spend on performance parts on my grand am im gonna buy and the B&M would be one of the first mods im looking at getting

does any one know any good n-body sites other then n-body.net (no one goes there lol)

thanks

aleromod.com

The B&M Shiftplus IS made for the 4T60/65E... not the 4T40E (even though everyone uses it)... so yes it would work.

www.grandamgt.com

www.aedcentral.com

www.gaownersclub.com

and the 3400's come with a 4T45E

You can always get a Grand Am with an LD9 or Eco though. The aftermarket is a LOT bigger for those than the 3X00 V6's (thank the j-bodies for that)

For a Cavalier... or Sunfire... which has a 4T40E transmisson... technically.... there isn't a "right" B&M Shiftplus.. wasn't made for this transmission. It was made for the bigger ones (as you list, the 4L80E and 4L60E, for example).

The Autotrans Interceptor is what I recommend... as it was actually made for the 4T40E. Some people on here will tell you otherwise... but I never ran a B&M Shiftplus, so I don't honestly know how bad it is for the trans.

guys save your money, most of the kits out there really dont do much, you want to know the secret to making the 4t40 shift nice and crisp? theres an EPC solenoid on the valve body,(EPC electronic pressure control) that has an adjuster screw on the back of it. find it and get a torx bit and ever so slightly turn it in. i'm talking 1/32nd of a turn. this is the only way to improve the shift on that trans. now if you turn it in too much it will slam into gear but it will break the sunshell. remember 1/32nd of a turn. if its not enough you may be able to go one more slight turn in. but no more. oh and pulling the valve body cover off is no walk in the park.
