Going to swap a 96 2.4l, 4spd auto tranny (4t40e) into a 96 2.2l 3 speed (3t40) sunfire coupe. Have all the parts, harness etc. BUT b/c the 3speed as vacuum controlled and 4speed is electronically controlled, is there going to be any issues ? I m not swapping the guage cluster, and only have the stock 3 speed center console.


Any info/experience/help would be much appreciated!

or just trans , cause the 2.4 will not fit the 2.2

motor and trans.

you will also need the 4 speed shifter and the shifter cable i did the same swap but i stayed with the 2.2 just went to the 4t40-e 4 speed
you will need to get one out of a sunfire with the 4 speed

oh and the drive axles are different , and wiring harness
