I called about a car i found and its super cheap.. problem is that it is stuck in low gear... i assume he means 1st on a 4 spd auto. its a 96 fire w/ a 2.4 trans. I am curious to see what it could be.. if i could fix this its a steal. he said the dealership told him there are 2 sensors for the trans and both are now replaced and still not working right. the car is salvage title and he thinks the ECU is bad. the car will start and run just will not shift. any ideas?

also, the speedo is not working... my guesses are ECU, VSS.... or hell i dont know. im open to suggestions

can you shift the car manually? 1st-2nd-3rd Overdrive? If you can do that than that will eliminate some problems it can be. I duno, try to be more specitic.
Could be the goveneror, could be a lot of things.
