I have to do a paper for my english 101 class and i was wonder how the technical babble goes for the transmission, from time of starting all the way to the overdrive gear and don't leave out anything, i myself know how to drive it and i do drive it everyday but i just need to know the ins and outs of it

i suggest doing a Google search, there are many websites that can give you what you need. just type in "how does an automatic transmission work" . Edmunds probably has the best outline of the theory. its just too much info to post here. by the way there is a real shortage of transmission builders in this country, most builders make $60,000 a year. dont know what your studying but its a field thats wide open for good people.
look through and read every page to get full use of that info
