HELP! Blow-off sound Without a turbo! (nice sound)
Sunday, October 02, 2005 11:15 PM
i did a burnout last night and after that it sounds like a blowoff everytime i switch gears going fast! (sounds the the type of blowoff valve from the supra of 2f2f) now my car didn't get magically faster either. so i'm thinking my clutch is slipping. or something else broke. i hope not, thats the first time i actually pushed my car since i put a new clutch in! all i have is a homemade supercharger setup that i put togather from my 240z turbo(l28 turbo swaped) heater core (it looks like an electrical supercharger which it is)

I'm not gonna comment on the electric supercharger or blow off valve statement...

It's more than likely your clutch. Remember that when you rev up and drop the clutch, that effects your clutch and transmission.

Electric supercharger sucks ass and will kill your engine.

I don't see what could cause a BOV efffect with no turbo. The BOV makes that sound by releasing excess power that the turbo spools up. So you must have broken something pretty good too, lol

actually a "electrical supercharger" will not hurt your car. All your doing is negating the negative pressure in most engine bays.

why doesn't everyone just stop being an asshat, and make constructive comments.

ala...

1.) The "electronic supercharge" is going to do nothing to help your performance.
2.) You need to go to a mechanic immediately or open the engine bay and see if you can isolate the source of the sound.

Weird that the belt made that sound. Was it pretty thrashed?
