Hard Shift

Now, i know what that old thin fluid causes trannys to shift hard, but has anyone here ever heard of a bad ground causing one to shift hard? I have an 04 cav automatic and my tranny started shifting hard at the same exact time that my check engine light came on, the code for the light was for my intake air temp sensor, i changed that and reset the computer and the light went out. the next day the light came back on, i got it checked again and it is the same code. I talked to autozone and a dealer down here and they both told me that a ground that my tranny and sensor share could be bad. My next step is to change the tranny fluid & filter to see if that helps the shifting. Its also not shifting hard always, i can go out in the morning and let my car run for about ten minutes, than go to leave and dont have a problem shifting until i get down the rode a little and any time after that it is doin it. any input would really help.

you may have an 1870 code TCC regulator valve worn, it doesnt nessesarily set a code in the beginning, but on the 1-2 upshift it will slam, check and see if your converter clutch is holding or gradually slipping thus increasing rpm, getting lousy mileage?

getting very lousy mileage, went from around 380 before my light to about 300 now. ill go get the code checked again and make sure.

just remember an 1870 doesnt always set a code in the beginning, sometimes it doesnt at all, find a good trans shop, they know all about it.
