The bell housings are different between every engine in the cavaliers 2.2OHV, 2.4 and 2.2 eco. Also 95-99 used a different brand trans than the 2000-05 getrags. Axles are both the same

Hey turbo. are the mounting and housing dif. for the 00+ trans for the 2.4. Well I guess what I need to know is will a 2k tranny fit in a 99 body. I have a 2k motor sitting in the car right now. with a pre 00+ tranny bolted to it, but that tranny took a dump. So I'm needing to find out what is what. Cause I intend on buying brand new. When the time comes.

Not to be a dick but the correct spelling is ECOTEC

The lower mount is the same on both engines. The upper engine mount is different 2.4 and the ecotec. Also the trans from the 97 needs different mounting braket locations, than the 2000+ the actual bushing inserts are the same however.

I have been told by someone before that a 03-03 ECOTEC uses a f23 getrag tranny. Now I have a 2002 2200 cav with a f23 getrag in it? WTF is going on ?and can i use this in my eco swap?

same transmission different bell housing on it. So the eco is not interchangable with a 2200
