Has anyone quieted their getrag with b&m trick shift? I just put in penzoil synchromesh and it didnt help much. Where can i get the saturn fluid at?
IIRC, the Getrag uses either Saturn Tranny Fluid, or ATF, Synromesh is used for the Isuzu..
It didn't work for me but the noise isn't nearly as bad as with the original GM fluid. You can get the Saturn fluid at, you guessed it, a Saturn dealer. Crap is crazy expensive though. I'm not putting the Saturn fluid back in. I rather enjoyed not shifting through what felt like concrete last winter.
I'm running the B&M trick shift in my 2001 Z24 5 speed. I know a few others running it. It is awesome!!!

What's the price on the saturn tranny oil? I don't think it is much more that the GM sycromesh tranny fluid for the Isuzu tranny? or is it?
so regular trickshift ATF can be used in a isuzu? does it make shifting smoother?
Whats the overfill quantity again? 3 lires?

Couldn't tell you about the Isuzu, this topic was about the getrag.

Wow - I thought this was a dead thread already!
Update - one year later... Still running 3 quarts of trick shift in the tranny... I can drive through parking lots still, without having to crouch down in my seat because my tranny rattle was louder than my exhaust
However, even after a fresh fill, there was still a slight rattle - but it's definitely quieter. I believe the cure is more of a "cover-up" of the sound, as opposed to a "fix".
However - I've had no over heating problems, and the shifting is in fact smoother than before!
I believe I owe Mrgoodwrench a big THANK YOU!!!
