i am swapin from 96 2.2l to a 99 2.4l which has a 2000 getrag tranny and i have to change all the cables and what not but i also have to cut the tranny mount brackets off and reweld the new getrag ones on...but i need to know where to place them..does anyone have the measurements for the rear bracket at least cause i believe the front one is in the same spot but just longer or what not...

the front one, just drill a new hole, and cut part of it off....... I think the hole is 6" from the rad. support..... or maybe it was 9"...... damn, I forget. Once you get the front in position, you can mock up and mark where the rear one goes.

Its been awhile since I've done the swap...... If I get a chance, I'll go measure mine later today..... it should be easy, since my engine and trans is sitting out of the car.

i also wouldnt mind some measurements......i took some off of a Getrag equipped car, but wouldnt mind some additional figures...

also what mounts did you guys use ??

Stock Front modded w/ Moved Izuzu rear

or

Stock front moved and Getrag rear purchased offa wreaker or GM....

just wondering, i am considering gettign the Getrag rear, but i wont if its easy enough to use the Izuzu rear....

damn was out there last night..... with a tape measure even, and forgot.....

When going from an Isuzu to Getrag, we modified the Isuzu front bracket, and cut off the rear one, and welded in a new Getrag bracket from GM.

When going from Auto to Getrag, I used 2 stock GM Getrag brackets, and modfied one for the front...... it was before Aaron at TurboTech had the front brackets for sale.

^^^^ No problems the tranny is in now ; ) i have another question though, when you did the swap 5 spd to 5 sd did you have to buy a new Clutch master cylinder ? or can you use the izuzu one and change the hose that goes to the tranny..... the izuzu one wont fit the getrag trans with the hose thats on there.....

we did buy a new master cylinder....... BUT you might be able to just swap the hoses..... never really looked close at it.
