3 speed transmission a dead end?

Is there anything that can be done to a 3 speed auto tranny to improve its performance other than taking it out and shooting it with a 12gauge?

That course of action may actually have an adverse effect on performance. Any breach of the transmission's casing/critical areas via the discharge of a firearm could allow critical fluids to leak from the hole, and impair transmission operation.

According to the GM Cervice Manual (r3.0, 2005), buckshot/birdshot pellets may ricochet off the transmission casing and cause serious injury, and possibly death. Always use proper safety gear and eye protection when executing your automatic transmission in the back yard.

i believe a well placed 44 cal. slug WILL penetrate the 3spd auto tranny and not cause any richochet thus eliminating any human hazards in the executing of the said transmissionin the backyard. however, local laws may prohibit the use and discharging of previously said fire arm in city limits or unless your name is Clint Eastwood.
