Did a search and didn't find anything on this.
First, my car is an '88 Sunbird GT (turbo, baby!!!!) with a 3-speed. Now, the tranny is built to handle massive power, probably more than I can throw at it. But I've been thinking about if it's possible to swap in a 4-speed overdrive tranny in there and if it would be worth it. It's not going to be a daily, but will still get driven quite a bit. My round trip to work it 44 miles.
Not that I'm worried about gas mileage, I would just like to get the revs down on the highway.
Thanks for any help/info.
John
No, it is not possible.
The Pontiac engine in your car has a bell housing pattern that is specific to only the Pontiac OHC engine. No other engine's trans will bolt up to it.
