I recently had my transmission fluid changed, some people are reluctant to do this...and i might see why. However, someone had said that if i add 2 quarts above the "full" hole, it should correct the problem...anyone have any problems with adding +2qrts?...or the same problem?
I may also be interested in the B & M shiftplus improver...if it would make any noticeable difference...
I'd recommend the interceptor over the B&M.

Ok first thing not a great idea to over fill your transmission. You will cause the fluid to foam (trap air) this will cause shift problems and could also result in damage to your transmission long term. Trans fluid expands when hot so if you over fill it with 2 extra quarts when cold it will be way over full when hot.You should have DEX III transmission fluid or synthetic transmission fluid. The 40T40E needs 7.4 qts with with just the pan removed. Complete overhaul 10.6 qts. And if it is shipped dry it will take 13.2 qts. Check your level with the engine hot and running.The car will have to be level and raised up to allow you to go under the car. Be careful when you remove the transmission fluid level plug.Not fun to have hot trans fluid on your arm.The fluid should just trickle out of the hole with the plug removed. Do not shut the engine off while the plug is out.The transmission fluid will flow out of the open hole like shot gunning a beer! I have the Autotransinterceptor on mine no problems, But the company that makes them here in Canada has shut down.So if you find one snap it up.Or buy the B&M Shift plus.

maybe mine was shipped dry then because when I got the transmission I filled it to the full level and it slipped like crazy. I added 3 more qts. to it and now its fine. Well with the front on jackstands and the back on the ground its not exactly level, so maybe it was just a few qts. low. Anyhow its been good for over a year now since I added the extra fluid to it. No leaks, great shifting.
