Ok I searched transmission and performance on the topic of the B&M Shift Improver, and found nothing in either or with the search. So I'm either not looking hard enough or nobody has posted anything on it yet. I have one installed on my car, I like how it feels so far when it is on. But on the highest setting it as some of you know makes the car shift very hard. I was wondering if anybody has ever installed this on their car and had problems with it? Does it do any damage to your tranny over a long period of time? I don't use it all the time just when I want to play around. But I have a 97 Z24 Auto and just wanted to know if I should worry about it doing any harm to my car over time. Does it matter what kind of thing I have installed on my car? I have upper and lower motor mounts, intake, pacesetter header, catco cat, and custom 2.25" cat-back. One more question is it safe or even a good idea to use the shift improver with turbo?
My car has two speeds, fast and faster.
I 've had the b&m for a while now since about september. i didnt have any problems until january when i drove to NY. On the way back I was driving and all of a sudden my transmission wouldnt shift. The b&m was turned off at the time. So i pulled over put the car in park. and tried it again. The same problem, the car rev'd all the way to the redline. so ihad to pull over again. cut the car off, and try it again. Same problem. So i turned the B&m to the 1 position and it worked good for a while but half way through the trip it happened again. So when I finally got home I disconnected the b&m and have had no problems since. This doesnt seem to happen to everyone So I don't wanna say don't use it . But that's what happened to me. I've heard some people say theyve used it for over a year with no problems. But ask around some more and get other opinions.
