Tranny fitting?

will a tranny for a 92-93 grandam (2.4 5 speed) fit a 98 cavalier(also 2.4 5 speed)

Shifted

There was no 2.4 in 92-93, thats a 2.3.

It will fit, but the older trannies are not Isuzu, they are either the NVG or the Getrag, can't remember. You'll have to change a lot more than the tranny to use that.

Shifted

96-99 use Isuzu, 2000+ use Getrag

gotcha......i was told with the 2.3 tranny....it would bolt up but sum bolts wouldnt line up....but it would work....cause i had one a while ago...but i sold it

Shifted

It will bolt up just fine, housings are the same, the problem comes in with the shift linkage and the mounts are different.

It's not too bad of an install...if you have any question, PM me. I swapped the NVG out of a '93 Olds Achieva into my '99 Z24.
