Automatic Gear Detection

I am getting HPTuners. . . . . . (i thought that would help you guys answer my quetion)

Is there any way on my automatic 05 sunfire ecotec, on the computer (hptuner setup) or by some other means... to see what gear I am currently on?? I think this tranny has 4 gears total...

I think there is a currentl gear PID that is readable by the scan tool.

would it be visible in the hptuners software?

I don't know about HP Tuners. There is a spot for it in AutoTap but it doesn't work.
