Sup guys, I have 2.4 99 Z24, 5-speed been driving this for 6 yrs.
As the topic states my tranny is been knocking for a while.
But goes away when i press down the clutch, then comes back when i let go off my clutch.
gear doesnt slip, check tranny fluid regularly.
Can someone give me some ideas what's making this knocking sound?
Any help would be appreciated. thank you.
Bad throwout bearing/slave cylinder
Suggest changing the clutch when you take it all apart to get that out. Trust me, it's well worth your time.
having same exact problem..sounds like a dam ticking noise. it happens when you bog the engine, like shifting to 3rd gear at like 20 mph. i also lost 2nd gear syncro like 6 months ago. lol

One more question ..... Cause' it could be a bad throwout bearing or a faulty clutch release bearing. I'm thinking of upgrading my clutch as well as Shooff suggested, i'm saving $$ for my clutch anyways.
So here's the ?? how serious is this knocking sound? would I still be safe driving my car for 3 to4 months or this problem needs some immideate attention?
