does any body know if the flywheel off a 2200 with a 4spd is the same as the 3spd flywheel ? and im assuming that the bolt pattern on the block would be the same for either the 3 or 4 right ?

no they are not. You know why? Because auto tranny don't have flywheels, they have flexplate.

Either way, what's being asked is if the 3spd 2200 FLEXPLATE can be used on a 2.4.
And no it cant. It's different for a 2.4 and a 2.2/2200.
He asked " does any body know if the flywheel off a 2200 with a 4spd is the same as the 3spd flywheel ? "
Not if it fit a diffrent engine cause I would have said no. I don't know if it's the same between the 3 and 4 speed.

yes im sorry the flexplate but i do mean for the same eng a 2200 if the flexplate is the same for the 3 and 4 spd trans . ill just call gm and ask but im sure they will show a different part number . iwas just curios if anybody had tried it . the eng i built had a 4 spd on it and the eng and trans in my car has a 3 spd on it . so i bought a 3spd and built it up and i want to bolt them together but the flex plate i have came from the 4 spd long and short.

They probably have a different torque converter for the 3 and 4spd.
