ok i just bought a autotrans intercepter from a friend of mine today. he has run it on his car for tens of thousands of miles with no problems, on level 10/ highest setting. i put it in my car today (set around 8) and am experienceing the following things:
1) when shifting from park or nuetral to drive there is a noticable hit and the car kinda lurches( only a few inches), but its kinda unnerving.
2) 1st to 2nd shift is very harsh...even under part throttle(normal) driving.
3) there is noticable hydraulic noise from the tranny (kinda like the chrysler/dodge front drive 4 speed trannys), even when sitting still. its easily covered by background noise, and i didnt notice it until i was in my drivway with the car running and it was very quiet out.
i set it back down to about 5 (1/2) setting and these things are still there...are they normal or cause for worry...any help is apreciated

the best thinig i can sudgest is to undo your battery to clear you computer memory then take it out for a drive. the computer learns your transmission and the way you drive it so tossing the interceptor straight onto it can disrupt it and confuse it. not saying it always does but in alot of cases it happens. i have the interceptor in my coupe and my vert and both had the same problem. a tranny friend of mine told me about the learning thing so i did it and it smoothed it out some but not completely. it still shifts hard into 2nd and i found that by shifting into revers for about 2 or 3 seconds and then into drive, it softens that initial lurch also. having upper and lower mounts helps immensly to. do you have them??
i tried the battery...didnt make any change. i set it back down to 3 or 4 and its what i was looking for; nice firm , quick shifts but no lurching or super hard hits or that slam into drive. i have the RK upper mount but just the stock lower...i had the RK lower too but i use the A/C alot in the summer...and the extra vibes annoyed me. i guess it was just a matter of tuning the intercpter to my liking, and now all seems to be good.

welcome to the world of a performance mod
everything you wrote sounds 100% normal
if you turn down the adjustment , youll notice it will get closer to the way it felt stock , maybe a little softer

the lower mount helps immensly to stop the clunking and such. if you can find one, Mark Pain built some lower mounts with a slightly dif bushing that softenend alot of the vibes out.
