Ok my buddy has a 96? Grand Am quad 4 2.3 at his house and ITS GOT A 5 SPEED!!! While this tranny fit behind (beside) my 2200 in my 98 Sunfire? if so what all woudl swap over?
No it won't fit and you gotta change either then engine or the tranny depending on what you want to do. It has been said I don't know how many times. 2.3 and 2.4 engines have their own housing. It only fit on the 2.3/2.4.
Also, 96 had 2.4's, not 2.3's.

well then i dont know what year it is cuz its a quad 4.

No there's no way. Find a 2.2/2.8/3.1 tranny.
