It's not difficult, but a pain. unbolting the trans is easy but you have to remove the entire trans to replace the clutch. Its not possible to do by yourself without the aide of a hydralyic lift. getting the trans out once its unbolted is just as agravating as putting a puzzle together with no picture on it. and then once its out you have to try and get it back in. if your pretty mechanically inclined it will take you a weekend to do especially since youve never done it before. My recomendation is stick with a oem replacement stage 1 clutch. also you need to resurface the flywheel unless you replace it with a new one. ebay, autozone, pepboys all sell clutches, i personally hate centerforce they seem to break too easy. Unless your boosted or spraying now or in the near future stay with an organic material on the clutch.

I just got the tranny bolted back in my car. It took all yesterday and today to install. I just gotta add some fluid and install the new brake pads and it will be good.

but yea getting the tranny back in is real difficult, especially if your clutch kit didnt come with an alignment tool.

OEM is good for stock, or SPEC is another choice, ie a stage 1. I got mine from karo @ carcustoms, even better since you're in the states.

changing the clutch is a big job but can definitely be done in a driveway/garage. having the right tools helps, and an extra pair of hands for the re-install is helpful, if not, essential.
