ok so most of you know i just got my new setup in. i just turned 750 miles on it. been breaking it in. it has NOT been raced or redlined yet. still hitting low boost (5psi or less) till 1000 miles.
i never beat the @!#$ out of it or hammered it on turns.
well about 2 days ago it made its 1st pop when i turned right form a stop. well its getting wose and it did it about 4-5 times tonight. all only when turning right from a complete stop.
is this a cv joint or what? im kinda a newb as far as the trans/drive train go. so any help would be appreciated.
money is low till next month. so if i have to get a new oem axle, thats fine, ill just save up for a drive shaft shop set.. im concered cuz a few of us have plans for the 3rd weekend this month to go to the track.

btw its got about 34k on it if that matters. and i broke the clutch in as spec said. 500 miles. no racing or excessive acceleration. it was really snappy at 1st been now its fine. idk if im just use to it but it feels like a stock clutch. just theres NO slipping it.
i just dont know whats causing it to pop? its only on the passanger side. i know hahn and suncai both made several 11 second passes on stock cv joints.

Look at the the boot broke, grease spilling out?
CV joints can make a popping sound.

Is it only from a stop? Or when already moving and them turning right as well? If only from a stop you could have a bad strut mount. I remember reading about that in the suspension forum. Usually bad CV's are more of a clicking than a popping.

no grease spilling out. its almost always from a dead stop when im turning right. its popped twice when i was downshifting to 2nd when coming to a red light.

lots of things can make a popping noise, usually under acceleration is inner cv joint, but it could also be your strut mount bushing.
your best bet is to take it to a shop that has a lift and can check your front end for you. I'd suggest bringing it to a sears auto center and ask for a suspension and steering check. it is free and they can tell you what it is.
CV joints usually make a ticking sound that sounds like someone is tapping on it with a small hammer when they're ready to die. Usually CV joints make a few clicks when making a turn in the direction of the bad joint.
I had the same problem and found my sway bar bushings were DOA, so i replaced my endlinks and mounts/bushings with energy suspension parts and bingo-bango, no more pop in turns or during braking.
Freakin morons.... When will they learn. Hold On Not Done Accelerating
