the only thing i can think of is the o-rings on the top/bottom of that white ball looking thing, i had a problem with mine when i installed my B&M shifter. The shifter got hella lose and would only shift gears if i pushed down on the top of the shifter to hold it in place.

I can't imagine how the center "ball" or pivot could be loose unless something is broken, such as the retainer which holds the pivot cup in the shifter base or the cup itself could be damaged. Sounds like you need to remove the shifter from the car and figure out what is going on. Directions on how to remove the shifter are available at Wild Weasel's website. It also has some good photos of the shifter so you can do some comparisons.

Does anyone have an update or idea on this problem?

My car is doing the same thing (where I have to shift into 2nd before I can get it into 1st). Everything else seems fine, but it's really annoying.

Ideas?

Thanks

I haven't had that problem since my B&M has been installed.
