It's normal for the ets to go off depending on the year of your car.
On the clunking, do you have engine mounts??
If not and you still have the original mounts, will cause it to clunk because of the harder line pressure making the tranny shift harder.
If the engine mounts haven't been changed, you better do so with this shift kit. If not, you'll stand the chance of hurting the factory engine mounts even more causing more problems in the drivetrain too.

I've had my autotransinterceptor for about 5 years now set at 75 percent. No problems and still works great to this day.
Good luck with it. Once you do get used to it's benefits, you'll never go back to stock.

If you want to avoid the clunk, rev up to about 1200RPM before you go into drive.

Until you can get the mounts, that is.

um...NO do not do that!...that will destroy your tranny...why on god's green earth would you suggest that to someone?

Neutral drop > 4t40e auto tranny

It's not really a neutral drop. 1200 is only like 300 RPM above idle. I've been doing it forever.

It's still not recommended if you want to keep the tranny in good condition over the years.
Longevity is the key here.

1200rpm is 600rpm higher than what an auto should idle. No it's not recommended.

Sorry, my Quad4 idles at 900RPM, and when I shift like I do, it feels like I'm shifting into drive WITHOUT the line pressure turned up.

I'm guessing from the responses that it's not that great an idea, but I'll keep doing it and I'll take note of when the tranny explodes
