I got a tranny from an autowreckers for my z24 on the weekend for $375. Pretty good deal I thougth. So I got it jacked up in place, but how do I get the shaft lined up with the clutch? do I just turn the flywheel, or what's the technique that you guys use. One guy said I should get longer bolts and bolt it up, and then get it snug and move the flywheel back and forth till it slides in, but that seems like it will take forever to get it perfect. If anyone could help me out that woul dbe great. Thanks
Be sure the trans input splines are clean, rust/dirt free and LIGHTLY lubed. Also be sure your clutch disc is still centered over the pilot hole(if unsure loosen pressure plate bolts, and realign disc.) get the input shaft started in the clutch splines and just be patient, a little(or a lot) of wiggling is all thats required as long as the disc is centered and the splines are clean/lubed
