Alright, I read on here somewhere that there is a sensor on the tranny on an 03/04 cavy that likes to go out. Well both of my reverse lights stoped working. They come on every now and then but for the most part just don't work. Anyone know a partnumber to a pic as to where the hell it is located on the tranny?

im pretty sure the reverse light switch is in the shifter console thing, like under the shift boot. It dosent seem hard to get to and fix
It is def not on the iside. I have had that part riped out so many times. lol
Anyways, after finally getting the damn search to work I found this info for anyone else who is having this prob.

If you Take off the drivers side front wheel its on the back of the transmission just above the CV Boot on th axle
I've done it by just turning the wheels all the way to the right.
mine's out again as well. I just put a switch about a year and a half ago.

The switch will set you back about 30.00 bucks
Now is this sensor hooked to a quick connector or something or am I going to have to run wires from the tranny back to the damn tail lights?

no, there's a quick connector.
just turn the wheels all the way to the right, and look in through the driver side front fenderwell. like he said above, it should be above CV boot. just follow the wiring to the connector. you'll need a wrench to get it out.
by the way, here's the P/N for the switch:

I just did this exact thing on friday it took all of 10 mins. longest part was getting the tools to put the car up in the air. lol ( i did an oil change at same time) Otherwise it would have taken all of five minutes.
I got my switch at Autozone, $17.99. Advance auto and O-Riellys can get them as well.
Don
wonder if they are better than the 1's GM used since they keep going out
my g/fs 02 has been out in hers since like early 03 , lol
Do you remember what part number that Autozone uses? I checked their website and it doesn't have anything listed.
