Type of Transmission ???????

I need to know what type of transmission I have, is it 3 speed or 4 speed auto and is it stamped on the transmission some where.
I have 1999 sunfire GT 2.4 , I need to know so I can get the correct cv axle, for the pass side.

If your shifter says "PRND321" then you have the 4 speed auto, aka 4T40E.

If your shifter says "PRND21" then you have the 3 speed auto, aka the 3T40.

Thanks for the info, because I ordered the cv axle for the 4speed 4T40E.
