ok i have a 96 cavalier 2.2 engine with a 3 speed automatic and for some reason when u have it to the floor like when the passing gear kicks in the car does not want to shift into 3rd its just kinda acts like its not in gear but if u dont have the pedal to the floor it shifts just fine and the tranny does not slip or anything does anyone have any idea what this could be ?

are you popping the limiter before it shifts? im sorry, but a little moere info is needed... i know on my 89 (same tranny), second seemed to last forever while the car was floored.

it might be just hitting the rev limiter in 2nd i dont know but 2nd does last forever i just wish i could figure out why its doing this becuase it is so annoying but thanks for the help
