TRANS MOUNTING??
Wednesday, January 03, 2007 7:58 AM
OK i am swappin an ecotec with the 5 speed out of an 04 into a 2002 with the 2200 and the auto. I have all the mounts Besides the tranny. the 2200 has just one that bolts from,"i guess yo an say the chassis" to the side of the tranny. And on the getrag it has a front mount(towards radiator) and one that bolts to the sub frame. Does it not bolt to the side of the 5 seed? Would i need to get somthing to mount the front mount to? IM lost!lol

you will to have the motor and trans out you will need to cut the 2200 auto mount off the chassis.. the getrag trans will hit the 2200 mount if you don't .. then you will need to weld in the mounts for the getrag.. front and rear mounts..

link to front mount you will need http://www.turbotechracing.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=507&idproduct=1253

the rear mount you will need you can pick up from your local Chevy dealer

Awesome thank you so much that was my biggest worry. I ordered that front mount from TTR. I guess that just welds right in?

Yes, but you need to take measurements on where it needs to go.

ok cool! ill drop the engine in,tighten the other mounts, then ill mark exactly where that needs to go. After that ill pull it all back out than weld it in.. Sound like that would work?
