Bad Pressure plate?
Sunday, February 11, 2007 7:13 PM
This is my first time owning a manuel, meaning I didn't maintain them, just beat the crap out of them.

A week ago when I pushed the clutch in at any pedal level, in nutreul or in gear, I got a whining sound. Let out the clutch, stopped. I was trying to wait til next week, but today after work I got in and it felt like a mile of give before the clutch engaged, almost to the floor. Never done that before. By the time I made the 20 minute drive home the pedal was sticking to the floor. My dad said it was a worn pressure plate. Is he right?

I'm planning on going with N2O soon, so I was thinking stage 2. I have no plans on going any higher than 280hp. Any suggestions?

'02 2200 75K miles, by the way

throw out bearing is shot, i would replace the whole clutch and pressure plate assembly while you have it apart unless you plan on tearing it apart later. just my opinion.

Displacement= 2.2L
Valve Train= OHV
Bore & Stroke= 3.50 x 3.46
Compression Ratio= 9 to 1
Net HP @ RPM= 125 @ 5200
Maximum Torque Ft Lbs @ RPM= 135 @ 4000
Fuel System= MFI
Normal Oil Pressure: psi @ 3000 RPM= 56

it could be the throw out bearing, but it could also be the clutch master cly. I would check your fluid, and rebleed the clutch.
