Between 1500 and 2000 Rpm getting a decent gear chatter problem. 1st 2nd 3rd. anyone experience thiis???? gm says (normal operation) switched to saturn fluid. didn't help. Any signs of trans failure to watch for and clutch failure????
I got this on my 01 z24 manual at about 800 miles. GM added the Saturn lube. That took care of it for a long time. Usually only happened after long drives and then cruising in first gear. Never in second or third. Also when I switched too B&M trick shift it took it away as well.

Mine has done it since I bought it (5000 mi.) Could I add a lucas product or maybe an additive??? I might go back to syncromesh fluid. My GMPP runs out soon and there is nothing GM will cover under warranty unless it is total breakage. I hear good things about royal purple.
Why would you ever put trick shift fluid in a manual???
That stuff is supposed to contain abrasive particles that make shifts (in an auto) snappier, but also eats away parts with time. It beats me why anyone would use it in a manual.
Low RPM growling is a common issue with getrags. It's not really the transmission's fault, but the choppy power delivery of four bangers. I filled mine up with fully synthetic ATF, but I found that filling it up to what the manual reccomends did nothing. What you put in there (as long as it's ATF) isn't as important as how much. By 4 quarts, my transmission was pretty much completely silenced.
and for god's sake, don't use trick shift
