My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Just FYI, my 1988 HM282 called for 10W30 instead of synchromesh. Had zero issues using Mobil 10W30.
Mobil 1 since I have owned it. It's a little stiff shifting in the really cold temps(10deg F or lowwer) but its smooth as silk once everything warms up.
I also used redline atf and I had no complaints....never got to use it in the winter though. my first trans took a dump and I've used Mobil ever since.
so do I use motor oil in my hm282 or Synchromax bc my hm282 is out of a 89 cavalier.

i would use versa-trak fluid from gm (used in newer awd diffs and t-cases)
I used Wal-Mart synthetic ATF in mine... I never once heard this mysterious "getrag growl" that apparently the 00+ Getrags commonly have...
Redline equivalent to synchromesh for me.
-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party
Bringing back a dead thread...
Just want to confirm how MUCH fluid to put in as well?
I've heard
ABOUT 2L but I want to know exactly how much and not too much

Stock is 1.8 Quarts.
GM released a service announcement for 00-02 Getrag stating that if you are experiencing noise/humming, that over filling to 2.6 Quarts is recommended.
So anything between 1.8 and 2.6 should be fine.
I am running 2 qts of B&M Think Shift and no problems here.
I put 2qts of B&M Trick Shift in mine when I did the swap but its a little noisy, probably wouldn't hurt to add a little over the recommended to make sure its quiet.
Ive read on here that someone dumped 3qts in and hasn't had any known issues.
