SPEC stage 5.
Thursday, March 22, 2007 12:30 AM
Is there anybody running the SPEC stage 5? IF you have what are your thoughts on it's feel? How does it launch?

also

Does anybody know of a company that will do a clutch that can handle 424 lb ft of torque and have at least some room to grow as well as a decent cushion?

Might want to look at a Bully Stage 4 or 5. Spec stage 5 only rates up to 520ft-lbs of torque, and I think thats peak and not sustained (can only handle it very occasionally). Bully states that the Stage 5 "can take more torque than your car will ever make, period".

Spec stage 3+ only goes to 465, I'm already slammin' 424, I don't see that clutch having a very long life.

Hey shifted where can I get more info on the Bully clutches? From what you're saying they do make them for the F23 tranny?

I just emailed SPEC about a recommendation on a clutch, and here is what one of their reps said.

There are a couple of options. You can stay with stage 3 and upgrade
the
pressure plate to our super clamp unit, or you can go to the st3+ with
the
super clamp plate, which drives just as sweet, wears better and holds
more
power. Either would cover your 500tq with ease, and give you breathing
room
to spare..

Looks like the key is in the pressure plate.

I'm going to give the Stage 3+ a try w/ the super clamp plate.

I have the Stage 3+ lightened with the higher clamping pressure plate setup. I've never had a problem with it, of course the season ended before I could really abuse it with 400+ lb/ft

Spy, what does the upgrade cost? (Can you just upgrade the plate?)

Thanks,

Just read the email again, so I would assume yes.

I'm just wondering still if it will be enough, it does seem the 3+ is the one for me.

Guess what. That's what a business does. I don't see you jumping on Aaron for saying he can get it.

If you don't like it, then don't read any posts by me.

Because Aaron is very respected around here, just like Karo is. You are not. It's that simple. Your almost like the kid in the back of the room always crying to be heard.

seriously, crying to be heard and yet when he clears his eyes out of all those aligator tears and looks around the room, all he sees is the backs of peoples heads, cause nobody cares! Pathetic! Enough already! so damn queer!

Uh huh...Sure. Go ahead and think whatever you want. There's a reason my business has succeed and is still around. If I wasn't respected, as you say, I would have no business and no reason to stay open. Yet here I am thriving.
