i'm trying to drain the fluid out of my friends izusu 5speed and no fluid is coming out. i took out the bolt that i thought would be the drain plug, but nothing comes......the bolt was probably 2 inches long, and looked like it had had fluid on it before. is the drain plug just this bolt or am i missing something....
please lemme know if you know..thanks

What did you take out? The drain bolt is a 24mm bolt on the Drivers side of the transmission, directly below the axle. It's between the frame and the case, so you need a wrench, i couldn't get a socket in there.

yeah, dude, the drainplug is short and fat, 24mm sounds right, and it's about 3/4" long. get a service manual. they're only like, 20 bucks at a parts store, and they'll save you this kind of trouble. hell, i think it's even in the owner's manual (if you still have it...).

yeah, the owners manual isnt in the car. but thanks for the help! i dont know what i took out, it looked like it could be a drain plug cause it was the only bolt in that area, and didnt look like it held anything together. thanks again

actually, the haynes manual didn't say sh*t about it, i had to decide on my own which one it was. the one and only GIANT bolt seemed lieka good choice LOL
