I just bought a 93 Z24 cavy w/ an auto (will get the car in a month or so). The shifter says "P R N D 2 1". So one would thinks it's a 3 spd auto. A friend told me it's a 4 spd, when it D it will also shirt into OD. Is that true? Also will one of the RPO codes in the glovebox tell what the gear ratio is? (Like on GM trucks)
Just some useful info, Thats not a 4 spd auto, Its a 3 spd.

Kick him in the forehead. The ONLY automatic that any J-car used between 1982 and 1994 is the TH125C/3T40 3 speed automatic.
1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
Thank you. Since I know NOTHING about j-bodies, I wanted to find out about the tranny.
