Alright, in my girlfriends 05 ls cavy we were driving and coming to a stop at a light, she went to down shift. it shifted fine but the clutch pedal stayed at the floor. It wont come up at all. It just stays down. A couple buddies said the clutch was shot, it seemed weird to me because there was no signs of it going, no slipping, nothing. So my question is if anyone has had this problem and what exactly it was, how to fix, and how much. Big thanks in advance for any help.
sounds more like a slave cyl. when a clutch goes, the pedal still works....the car just dont move. check the resivoir for the clutch and see is theres any fluid in it.
this is wierd as a matter of fact almost the same exact thing happened to me today the clutch would grab not even an inch off the floor and then it wouldnt spring back up. i went to the transmission place by me and figured out what it was. for both our situations considering its somewhat similar problems your most likely going to have to replace either the slave or master cylinder. this could be caused by air somehow getting into the resevoir and into the hydrolic. try to bleed the clutch it worked for me and is back to normal after u bleed it let the car sit for couple hours then see how it is. it may be normal at first and while ur driving go back to how it was then ull need those parts. .if the clutch wasnt slipping its def. one of those parts hope this helps
