So i am having my auto rebuilt, while it is being rebuilt the tech asked me if i wanted a shift kit installed while it was apart, i voted yes. my question is will i really feel a difference in shifts? it is a medium shift kit for 1st and 2nd gear. whould i of just went with the b and m electronic shift improver or is this physical shift kit worth it? has anyone had a kit or plate installed?
What kind of shift kit is he offering?
I know of no physical shift kit has ever been made. That doesn't mean one doesn't exist.

apperently it is just a new plate that goes in the valve body. i think it just has different sized holes for the fluid to be routed around. sorry i do not know much about it or auto trannyies for that matter so i cant answer questions all that accuratly... any help is appreciated

sorry for the double post.
Conventional shift kits usually include the plate, some springs(stronger) and a few little balls all of this replace oem in the valve body although none is known for the 4t40e just the Interceptor and B&M (electronic units that rise the pressure of the tranny oil) both do the job, I have the interceptor at 100% for almost a year now and I am happy with it. If the thecnician is skilled and knows what he is doing or has done it before your tranny should turn out ok, do get a warranty from him just in case.
will do! he has installed it and is going to put it on the tranny dyno, i'll let you guys know how it differs from stock. whould it be a bad idea to put the b&m shift improver on the tranny aswell?
I've driven cars with shift kits...you're gonna love it (if it turns out right.) If you get into the pedal on the Prowler, it literally throws you into your seat. It's a trip
