Poly inserts install

Ok guys i dont know if Im retarded or if my car is special but I cant get the old mounts out. I searched and no one else seems to be having a very difficult time getting theirs out. But I tried pry bar and hammer and it aint moving at all. How did you guys get those old mounts out?

There's a small tab on the stock bushing, you need to bend that up.

Yeah they are all bent out. And I push out from the sides with the tabs right. A friend of mine said he burnt his bushing out. Anyone ever tried that.

I don't think I'd go lighting fires underneath my car. Soak it down with some WD-40.

Do you have a bench vice? I think IMO pushing them out in a vice works best.

Ohh the mounts are out of the car as Im doing an eco swap. And I dont have a bench vise but Im running out of ideas here.

Yeah a bench vice would work wonders!! Honestly i dont see getting the new mounts in with out one so good luck on that. But since you dont have a vice to get the mount out set it on the edge of a table, work bench or anything with a hard edge. Make sure the insert will clear that edge and give it a few blows with a hammer. It' ll come out. Also hammer from the opposite side of the tabs!

why would u hammer the opposite side of the tabs, wouldnt that be beside the point of the tabs... to hold it in there. u bend the tabs and beat it out hammering the tab side, and also if u never plan on using the mounts again then ya go for it burn them out, why struggle when they are gonna be junked anyway. have fun
