OBX Helical LSD Differential
I've been seeing these things on Ebay for a while. Does any one have any experience in owning one ?
If this is close to what comes in the Cobalt SS they are 3x the price.......
Tell Me your opinion on it.....
Going off of OBXs failure rate on other semi complex part I would steer clear. That's my 2 cents. I'd be more confident on a TG/Phantom style insert.
Search around on here. People have bought the F23 and it isn't for our trans, it's the F35 unit.
Fitment:
F23 trans: FWD 5-speed 2.2L/2.4L: (MG3) Saturn Vue 2.2L Ecotec /(M86) Cavalier, Sunfire, GrandAm, Alero, Cobalt, G5, Ion 2.2/2.4 Ecotec (will not fit the Getrag tranny)
Interesting.
Howell Automotive Here is the Phantom LSD for a better price than that ebay one and it looks like an easier install maybe too. Who knows.

Better yet, get a hold of Brian W over at Team Green, his LSD inserts are cheaper and better than phantom.

With that type of LSD it looks more like a locker. How is something like that on the street for an "everyday driver" ?
There are well over 50 if not into the 100's of cavalier/sunfire owners that drive daily with the Team Green LSD plates. I dont think IMO there is any drivability issues

There are a ton of satisfied Team Green owners in our extended GMFWD community. I've not heard of 1 problem related to drivability or tranny failure. Phantom Grip I have hard of some failures - but they don't use as good of materials as TG does either.

Well, That is good to know. I think when the time comes for a new clutch, this is when the LSD goes in. I appreciate the comments and info.
Team GREEN FTW

The last time I seen the OBX ones on ebay, they had the F23 LSD in the F35 ad, and the F35 LSD in the F23 ad.... (pic wise), and the guys who bought the F23 ones received F35 LSDs..... IDK if they ever cleared that up (seemed like a packaging issue from OBX)
